Lost Little Boy

Interesting event this AM. I was tearing the washer apart (found a big ol chunk broken out of the outer tub... looks like we need a new washer..parts are too expensive on front loaders). Well, a little boy (maybe 3rd grade) knocked on our door. He had been sledding with this brother and some friends across the street @ Maryville College. He got lost from the rest and showed up here looking for someone he knew. I found out that his Mom was a professor @ the college and took him to her office. We called and waited for her there. All is good now. Felt sorry for the little guy, he was crying when he showed up. He was worried that his Mom would be mad @ him.

There is a wonderful analogy here as to how so often folks won't let themselves be found spiritually for fear of God being mad @ them. God dealt with the things he's angry with us about (sin) on the cross. That's why the Gospel is such GOOD NEWS! He's like the prodigal son's father...he knows we're tired of wallowing with the pigs and that we are ready to get cleaned up and love him back. I saw the look of God's love on that Mom's face. She was sooo happy that her little guy was OK. Cool, huh?
